Welcome to the Murphy atlas - a travel & lifestyle blog created by Shane & Julie Murphy. We are reflections of the Ultimate Creator, and are seeking to explore His creation by traveling outside of the motherland (USA) at least once a year, every year of our marriage.
Julie is a creative at heart - co-founder, calligrapher, sign painter and stylist of Sandpiper & Co, and Shane is a financial advisor / soon to be home builder (once we move back to State College, PA).
Our biggest married adventure began in January 2015, when we both quit our day jobs in Washington, DC and set off to explore Australia, New Zealand & Southeast Asia until the end of May. Most of these beginning posts will be from the road, chronicling our current trip, but once we move back to the States we plan on sharing our daily adventures as well as some of our favorite trips from the past (here's lookin' at you, Iceland!)
